The Bus
At long last we have a bus in Llanigon! It's the new B49 service run by Brecon based Williams coaches . NB it has to be pre-booked so they know what size of vehicle to use.
At the moment, it only runs once a week on a Thursday to connect Talgarth, Velindre, Tregoyd, Llanigon and Clyro to Hay on Market Day.
OUTWARD JOURNEY
To catch the bus in Llanigon be on Ash Grove opposite Willow Glade at 0949. Don't wait at the old bustop as that's now a book swap not a bustop.
It will drop you in Hay by the Clock Tower at 0957.
RETURN JOURNEY
It leaves the Hay Oxford Road stop at 1240 and then picks up passengers at Hay Clock Tower at 1258 so you can choose where to get on.
The driver is very amenable and willing to do more stops in the village to get you nearer to your house in the rain!
COST
£1.50 each way unless you have a Wales over 60s bus pass in which case it's free for you.
TO BOOK
Call Williams Coaches on 01874 622 223 before Thursday and book your seat.
It's a great step forward to be on a bus route at last - thanks to all of those of you who took part in the Powys County Council consultation and argued the case for a bus service in Llanigon. Like all these things that need to at least break even, it is now a case of 'Use it or lose it'.
