The 'Defib'
A defibrillator is a life-saving medical device that delivers an electric shock to the heart during a sudden cardiac arrest to help restore a normal heart rhythm. You do not need training to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), as it provides clear voice and visual instructions to guide you through the process. If you find someone in cardiac arrest, call for an ambulance, start CPR, and send someone to get a defibrillator if one is available.
